We got engaged, quit our jobs, sold our stuff and started a once-in-a-lifetime journey around the world. Well, hopefully not just once in our lifetime. This is something we have both always wanted to do, and all the stars seemed to align for us to do it. It will be an adventure to remember, and we want to share it with anyone who wants to follow along. Hopefully this will inspire others to do the same and our experience will help others--friends, family, and strangers alike--to one day plan a trip like this. 

 

We started our journey on July 25th, 2014. In 86 days we drove over 16,000 miles, visited 41 US states plus two other countries in North America, and saw more than we could ever have dreamed of. After a week's rest, October 23rd began our journey abroad. This around-the-world trip, which we hope to be the first of many, ended March 4th, 2015 when we arrived back in the states. Abroad we traveled over 62,000 miles across 29 countries. This was not a lot of time to cover such a large area so we had to be very selective in where we chose to go and what we planned to see. This site is to showcase what we're all about, how we planned this life-changing journey, and a "his and hers" perspective on the places we visit along they way.

We originally planned to fit South America, Central America, Africa and more into this first trip, but those would have to be saved for a second adventure. Once back in the states we moved to Birmingham, Alabama, got married, and are slowly but surely planning round two.
